Rick Miller and Daniel Brooks' international hit show caused quite a stir in Sydney as part of its Australian premiere. The play ran from Jan 18-29, 2011 and was co-presented in a multi-lingual run by the prestigious Sydney Festival and Sydney Theatre Company (artistic directors Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton). More to come...
Bigger
Than Jesus is a sinfully funny and poignant multi-media ‘mass’ that
questions the mysteries of life and historical and modern viewpoints on
Christianity. Director Daniel Brooks and performer Rick Miller
carefully balance reverence and irreverence, creating a show that has
been performed in four languages. At times educational, at times
enlightening, Bigger Than Jesus is a truly unorthodox theatrical
experience that has now played in 23 different cities.
Rick
Miller returns to Sydney following his performance in Robert Lepage’s
Lipsynch for the 2009 Sydney Festival and his one-man show MacHomer in
January 2010. Produced by Wyrd and Necessary Angel with Richard Jordan
Productions Ltd.
